On-Campus Employment

F-1 students are permitted to work on Duquesne University's campus up to 20 hours per week while school is in session (fall and spring terms) and up to 40 hours per week during vacation periods (holidays and summer term). F-1 students do not need permission from the Center for Global Engagement for on-campus employment, but J-1 students must request authorization for on-campus employment.

The Office of Human Resources maintains an online list of on-campus job openings available to international students. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to access "Student Employment Resources". Interested students should apply as early as possible since positions sometimes fill quickly.

Students who are hired for on-campus work will need a Social Security Number (SSN). Click here for information and instructions on how to apply for the SSN.
