International Student Orientation
Welcome to Duquesne University! We are excited that you will be joining the Duquesne community this semester.
All new international students are required to attend the mandatory International Student Orientation on January 19,2021. Given the current situation, we want to protect our students and also provide information to students who are located outside of the US so we have opted for an online orientation this year that will still provide our new students with all of the same information you would receive on campus.
How does the Online Orientation work?
- Attend the virtual information sessions that will be held in real time using Zoom.
- Complete the mandatory information modules here on the Immigration Portal.
Why do I have to attend the virtual sessions AND complete the online modules?
With the decision to conduct an online orientation for new international students, we realized that some students may still be in their home countries. Therefore, conducting a fully virtual orientation on Zoom would not be practical due to time differences. To accommodate this, we have decided to present the more important information such as immigration and student well being during the virtual Zoom sessions, and all the other resources in an online format that you can view on your own time. We are committed to providing our new students with all the same information you would receive during a traditional on campus orientation. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact intladmissions@duq.edu.
What information is covered in the online modules?
The online modules will cover:
- Navigating University Life
- Duquesne Health Requirements
- Resources for Students (Graduate, Undergraduate, and ESL)
- Settling into Life in Pittsburgh
- Work through the modules in order.
- Complete any requests as you go along.
- Mark each section as reviewed after completing it by clicking on the check box. This will help you keep track of your progress.
